Time, plan and task management



Time, plan and task management aare the things which we're commonly deal with in work environment.
Some people has screwed up by those things and uhm i was anyway..
It's not easy as we know, indeed.
I'm working as Personal Assistant and i have been dealing with those matters since years back. The heck thing is when u have 1 task to do and suddenly come some tasks more with the label of "URGENT". -____-"

I don't have any formal educational background of administration or secretary or public relation and so on. I was graduated with the title Bachelor of Computer Science.. Yayayaya.. I know what u're thinking right now, guys..
Lo pasti pada mikir "kenapa juga sih lo ga jadi IT aja? ato "halah, kuliah mahal tapi kok ilmu nya ga dipake".. Hehehe.. I knew.. I knew.. Those common statements i have been heard :p
The point is, i have something to be implemented in my daily work by taken computer science major.
I always believe that we will get the answers of our questions if we'll never stop to find out. There's nothing in this world that we couldn't find the answer.

Dulu, waktu gue kuliah ada mata kuliah tentang scheduling algorithm atau algoritma penjadwalan, biasanya ini dipakai cpu untuk prioritasin task mana dulu yang akan di execute.. Dan, itu ternyata ngebantu banget buat kerjaan gue sekarang :)


1. FCFS ( First come first serve)
This method will help u to finish the first task, when other tasks are coming, they need to wait. But, this will not so helpful sih..
Because in work, u'll find out many distractions. Dan, salah satu nya adalah kerjaan-kerjaan simple tapi berlabel URGENT.
Fokus nya ini ke time sharing. Lo harus bisa bagi waktu antara kerjaan 1 dan yang lain. If u can't then u'll be pretty screwed up :p


2. SJF (short job first)
This will be effective when u have 2 tasks dengan waktu pengerjaan yang beda tapi deadline sama. Let say u have 2 tasks.
Task 1, u need to make weekly report which needs to be reported 2 days later and task 2, u have to make the reservation for the hotel and ticket for the next 2 days business trip.
Which one u will do first? i'll suggest do the second one.
Though the 1st task comes first but see the time nya. Waktu pengerjaannya bakal lebih lama dibanding tugas kedua.
Deadlinenya sama, tapi utamain deh kerjaan yang waktu pengerjaannya lebih simple.


3. Round Robin
Sebenernya sih hampir sama kayak FCFS, yah intinya pembagian waktu.
Misalnya, kerjaan lo lagi banyak banget. Belum selesai sama 1 kerjaan, datang lagi yang lain dan akhirnya numpuk.
Round robin ya intinya adalah mengantri kan semua kerjaan lo dengan waktu yang udah ditentuin, if u have reached the time limit, u need to switch to the second task, begitu seterusnya.
ga enak nya pake algoritma ini, bakal terlalu banyak switching dan resiko nya akan lbh lama selesainya.


Saran gue, klo udah gitu, selalu buat list task to do setiap hari. Checked list for the done task so u'll know how many pending tasks nya.
Dan selalu kasih deadline buat setiap kerjaan lo.
Dalam 1 hari lo punya 5 tasks, set the deadline to every task. so everything will be organized and keep in track.


For having an organized life is very good, guys. This's part of discplinary action, hmmm.. pertama kali sih pasti lo bakal ngerasa ribet banget. apa sih hidup kok pake dibuat susah.
But, u know.. Ur life is defined by the way u're managing it. When u can't manage ur self, ur character is zero.
